Since 2007, Sighn been hand-cutting a limited edition of 1 million 2-inch x 3.5-inch three-dimensional wooden mantras. The Chicago-based artist chose the phrase ‘It’s OK’ because it was something he could see himself repeating over and over in this process he calls “quite therapeutic.” Each ITSOK is solid wood (no plywood or particle board) and is hand-cut and hand-packaged by Sighn with a number and card explaining the project.

Though his bamboo edition was distinctly green, Sighn has entered the 4000s with his first official colored ITSOKs. Cut out of basswood, this edition of 50 each are painted fluorescent pink, orange, yellow, blue and green. Individual ITSOKs are $20, or you can get the whole set of five for $75 here. Better still, one tree is planted through the Arbor Day Foundation for every ITSOK purchased. It will likely take Sighn his entire lifetime to complete this project.
